Yipee

A package came for me yesterday which was so exciting. I totally forgot that I had ordered this apron book. It has some adorable aprons in it. Why can't you find books like these in the states? They would be a huge hit. I can't wait to get started, but Iv'e never worked with a Japanese pattern book. I hope I can pull it off. The pictures look pretty easy to follow though. The last apron looks so cute that I might have to wear it as an outfit after I make it. No one has to know that its actually an apron, right?

I Found the Spot

I found the perfect spot for that vintage quilt I bought. I did'nt know if it would fit in the bedroom but the light blue walls really compliment the fabric. I wish I could find more of these for the price I paid. I was super lucky that day, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled now.

My Little Munchkin

This is my little mini schnauzer. His name is Jeremiah, and he is the best little doggie anyone could ask for. We were taking a nap together, but he looked so adorable so I had to snap a photo of him sleeping. I carefully snuck into the kitchen to grab my camera, but when I turned around he was peeking over the couch. He's such a light sleeper. I finished another apron today and Jeremiah helped model it for me. It did'nt quite fit him, so we opted for the dining room chair. My christmas tree is in the back, but I'm not quit finsihed. I want to fill it with more decorations. There are some great Martha Stewart ornaments at K-mart and theyre cheap too. Oh, I how love Christmas.

Christmas is Coming!

This month has been so crazy. I've been working quite a few hours at the spa, so my hands have been killing me. I did manage to finish some of my blocks for my ocean quilt. I just have to iron them so they don't look so puckery. The fabric is a light sea green and the embroidery is out of a rich chocolate brown thread. I have two more of these blocks to do and then the rest will be french knots or ribbon tied into cute little bows...I'm still brainstorming about that. The quotes on the blocks are all from some of my favorite poems and books, about the ocean.

"For whatever we lose, like you or me, It's always ourselves we find in the sea."
E.E. Cummings

"If fishes were wishes, the ocean would be all our desire."
Gertrude Stein

"The voice of the sea speaks to the soul, the touch of the sea is sensuous, Enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace."
Kate Chopin

Here are a couple of the lavender eye pillows I made with a little matching pouch to keep it in. I think they came out great. I sold one in my etsy shop a few days ago. My first little sale! It's so fulfilling when someone buys your creations. When all that special care and time you put into your crafts is appreciated by someone...A total stranger...It makes you feel so wonderful.

I Hit the Jackpot Today

I made a reversible apron today, and I'm pretty happy with it. I really love the vintage pink floral print.

After work I was contemplating whether or not I should stop by this little antique mall down the street. I am so happy that I did, because I found these two amazing old quilts. Please excuse the ugly night time photos. I'll post some better ones later. They are both hand made, and I paid only...Get this...Eight bucks each!! How awesome is that. I have no idea where I'm going to put them, but I'll find a spot.

A Fresh New Start

My first post is here. I hope I will be disciplined enough to stick with blogging. Keeping my fingers crossed. As a child, wasn't Dumbo like the best ride ever?
