Peek-a-boo
Rain, rain, rain equals sew, sew, sew. And lots of Doris Day movies while I do it. I started on some little children's aprons. I think they turned out really cute. I'm going to make a few more and post them in the shop tonight. I think "Peek-a-boo aprons" are the perfect name. At least until I think of something more artsy fartsy. Now if only I had a cute little girl to try them on :)

Skirts for Spring
Well, I moved into a new house. We were in a tiny apartment for a year, so there was absolutely no room for creating! It was horrible...all my crafting necessities were in storage and I had to find other things to do in my free time. Like watch television, and clean. Eek! Anyway, I'm back into the groove. I'm sewing anytime I have a moment to spare. I've started to make some skirts. I love making bags, but I wanted to try something new. Here's a peek at what I've done so far.

New Designs
Just some new handbag designs I've been working on. I love the roomy size. They're perfect for the beach or cruises, aren't they? Hopefully I can make a bunch in time for the craft fair coming up.

I was looking back on the older items I made...Like when I first started sewing. Man, can you see the difference! It almost makes me feel a little proud of myself, like wow! I'm really getting better at this :)

Man oh man
Life has been a whirl wind of craziness lately. Chris and I are planning a move to Australia...hopefully in July. We're waiting on our visas have to go through and everything. I'm really excited about starting our new life together there. I'll be able to have more time off (time for crafting!) and not to mention all the family we will be able to hang out with. I researched the crafting community over there and I've found that its pretty strong which makes me so happy. They even have a market strictly for handmade goods and second hand items every Saturday in Sydney. How amazing is that? Hopefully I can really buckle down and dive into the crafting community online and work on building my shop up. I've started to sew a little again, so here's a peek at what I'm making.

Babies, babies, babies!
It seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant. Babies are everywhere! The timing is'nt right for my hubby and me right now, but I can still dream, right? Or in my case sew! These pinafore/jumpers are so easy to put together, and they're so adorable.

I could sew these bonnets all day, they're so cute and fun. Well, I'll just keep sewing until I have a little baby of my own to dress :)

I'm Just An Orange County Girl
I grew up in southern California, Mission Viejo to be exact, and I have so many memories from that hot little town. Many of those memories have something to do with my absolute favorite place in the world...Disneyland. I think that's why I have such a place in my heart for Disney. It was a huge part of my childhood. I remember riding in the back seat of the family van down I-5 right past Disneyland, and stretching my little head as far back as I could, just so I could catch a glimpse of the very tip of the Matterhorn. To this day, I still get super excited when my husband and I take a weekend trip to Disney World. We only live about two hours away...well worth the drive. My mother put this little chart on the refrigerator and every time I did a good deed or something that would make her smile, I would get a little gold star. I won myself a trip to Disneyland once I reached 100. I was the most well behaved little girl anyone could ask for. :) I think one of the biggest reasons I'm a self proclaimed "Disney Fanatic", is because I have such an obsession with that wonderful era that falls between the 40's and 60's. I'm the kind of Disney fan that gushes over vintage Disneyland postcards and guidebooks that come from that "Walt" era. The old movies, the old recordings and classic rides and artwork. You don't see that anymore, and when I come across Disneyland memorabilia I feel like I've come across a treasure. Imagine my happiness when I came across Gorillas Don't Blog. These photos are amazing and there are so many more on the site.
